The Introduction to Meditation is required for
anyone who wishes to sit in evening meditations at the Institute. This one-time
introduction to meditation includes a yoga class to prepare you for meditation
and is offered in Portland on Wednesday at 6:00 p.m., or by special appointment.
Please call the Nityananda Institute office to let us know when you'd like

YOGA: MEDITATION AND SPIRITUAL PRACTICE
This eight-week course is intended to provide
a foundation for spiritual practice for new students at Nityananda Institute
and to review the principal tools of the practice for existing students.
"Trika Yoga: Meditation and Spiritual Practice" is designed to
give students an opportunity to experience the various techniques used in
the practice to release tension and promote the flow of creative energy.
Topics include: Getting Started: The Foundations of a Spiritual
Meditation and Vital Force
Breath and Asana
Sound and Vibration
Extending the Energy
Philosophical Roots of Trika Yoga
The Authentic Teacher
Living a Spiritual Life
The course is held on eight consecutive Wednesday

Santa Monica students sit together every Saturday
from 7:00-8:00 p.m., and Wednesdays from 7:00-8:00 p.m. Institute teachers
from Portland visit frequently to teach class. If you would like to participate,
